The United Arab Emirates established its Embassy in the Maldives, effective March 3, 2019. H.E. Dr. Saeed Muhammad Al Shamsi presented his credentials as Ambassador to the Maldives on March 25, 2019. The current Ambassador, H.E. Sheikh Rahma bin Abdulrahman Al Shamsi, presented his credentials to the President of the Maldives, on July 29, 2023.
