Maldives' New Ambassador Presents Credentials to UAE President

 

His Excellency Mohamed Hussain Shareef has officially taken up his role as the new Ambassador of the Maldives to the United Arab Emirates. On Wednesday, he presented his Letter of Credence to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, during a formal ceremony at the Qasr Al Watan Presidential Palace.

 

The event featured the ceremonial hoisting of the Maldivian flag, an inspection of a UAE military guard, and the playing of the Maldives national anthem. Following the presentation, President Sheikh Mohamed welcomed Ambassador Shareef and congratulated him on the beginning of his diplomatic mission, expressing wishes for his success in his new role.

 

The President also highlighted the strong bilateral ties between the Maldives and the UAE, reaffirming his commitment to collaboration with the new Ambassador and support for the developmental vision of Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.

 

In his remarks, Ambassador Shareef conveyed his gratitude and extended greetings from President Dr. Muizzu and the Maldivian people to the UAE leadership and citizens. He expressed his dedication to enhancing the existing cooperation and relations between the two nations.

 

The Maldives and the UAE have maintained diplomatic relations since March 15, 1978. Ambassador Shareef is the sixth individual to hold the position of Maldives' Ambassador to the UAE.
