UAE's Vice President Meets Maldivian President at World Governments Summit 2024

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, engaged in discussions with His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Maldives, during the second day of the World Governments Summit (WGS) 2024. The meeting, attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, focused on enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two nations.

 

The conversation underscored the significance of the Maldives' involvement in the WGS and its potential to strengthen UAE-Maldives ties across various economic and political dimensions. Both leaders acknowledged the importance of the Summit topics, highlighting the event as a vital global platform for encouraging innovative government solutions to tackle pressing global challenges.

 

President Muizzu also delivered a keynote address on the Summit's second day, sharing the stage with the presidents of Madagascar, Mauritius, and Seychelles.

 

Running until February 14, the WGS 2024 in Dubai revolves around the theme 'Shaping Future Governments' and features an impressive array of participants, including over 25 heads of state, more than 85 international organizations and global institutions, and 140 governments. The event has attracted over 4,000 attendees and comprises more than 110 sessions and dialogues, with contributions from over 200 prominent speakers and 23 ministerial meetings featuring more than 300 ministers.
